About me

I cook it, film it and usually burn my mouth eating it.

How it started

A dirty phone lens and a cardboard-roll tripod.

I have always cooked for fun. In October 2022, back trouble meant I could not play golf with my mates every Sunday, so I needed another way to switch off. Someone close to me suggested filming the food.

The early setup was not glamorous. I used my phone, the lens was often filthy and the tripod was a cardboard roll from some paper towel. It did the job.

The more I filmed, the more I wanted to improve—both the food and the videos. Cooking gave me somewhere positive to put my energy, and editing became almost as satisfying as the final plate.

What I cook

Anything from pies to steaks.

I like experimenting with different cuisines, working out why a technique works and showing people that cooking at home can be enjoyable and achievable.

Some cooks are quick. Some take 48 hours. Plenty begin with whatever is left in the fridge. If it tastes good and there is something useful to pass on, it belongs here.

Why keep sharing it

The food brought people back around.

Mum is still the number-one fan and likes every video. Posting the food has also reconnected me with people I had not spoken to in years.

The Breakfast Pie reaching millions of people through LADbible was a strange and brilliant reminder that a simple home-cooked idea can travel a long way.

Where it is going

Keep cooking. Make the book.

Stivalicious now has a growing recipe collection and a first cookbook in development. The goal is still the same as the first rough video: make something good, learn from it and share it.
